Some has already escaped, sliding between your fingers, no matter how tightly you clench them together. That water has already run.
The water is still falling. But you can’t hold what has yet to run into your hands either.
You can’t be with what was or will be. Neither of those are graspable.
Here and now, water is still smoothing over your hands. It never went away – you did.
How do you hold running water?
Just open your palms.
