Races & puzzles

June 21, 2017

Races are tough. You can lose a race. If you’re out of breath before you hit the finish line, it’s game over.

You can’t lose at a puzzle. The only way to lose is to give up. If it’s a puzzle, you know there’s a solution. It can be done. It might be a learning process. Trial and error. But figuring it out is just a question of when you put the pieces in order. “If” only enters the picture if you let it.

Some situations are actually races. Your life is finite. You can lose by not getting what you wanted. But we treat a lot of puzzles like races, and so we end up feeling out of breath … and we give up.

Don’t hold your breath trying to solve puzzles.

Life is finite. Make sure you’re solving the right puzzles.
