Ego fills the space between us and what we are unwilling to feel.
Like mold in damp, ego grows in our blindspot. The blindspot, the excuses we make for ourselves, is itself ego.
There is more pain in our unwillingness to feel something than the actual experience of that feeling. That resistance prolongs the ending of suffering, the act of dismantling our delusions and seeing things as they are.
Honesty is when there is no space between ourselves and what we might feel. There is no resistance, and we see what is.
